Spend several days immersed in the rhythms of rural Emilia-Romagna while staying in a private countryside villa. This relaxed setting allows for shared meals, informal conversations, and a deeper connection with the region.
Explore some of Emilia-Romagna’s most important cities, including Bologna, Parma, Modena, and Reggio Emilia. Each destination offers its own unique combination of history, architecture, food culture, markets, and local traditions.
A full free day in Bologna, along with selected free meals throughout the trip, allows you to follow your own interests, discover local cafés and restaurants, shop, visit museums, or simply enjoy the atmosphere of one of Italy’s great food cities.
Our journey begins at a carefully selected countryside boutique agriturismo in the heart of Emilia-Romagna, providing a comfortable base from which to explore the region’s renowned food and wine culture. Surrounded by agricultural landscapes and small villages, this setting offers a relaxed introduction to rural Emilia-Romagna.
For the final portion of the trip, we relocate to Bologna, where we stay within easy reach of the historic center. This allows time for independent exploration, local dining, shopping, and enjoying the atmosphere of one of Italy’s great food cities before returning home.
Meals are an essential part of the experience. Throughout the trip, we will enjoy a combination of traditional trattorias, family-run restaurants, local specialties, producer-hosted meals, and carefully selected dining experiences. The focus is always on authenticity, regional character, and quality ingredients rather than formality or luxury for its own sake.
Emilia-Romagna is home to a rich wine culture that extends far beyond Lambrusco. Throughout the journey, guests will have opportunities to taste regional wines, learn about local grape varieties, and discover how wine has accompanied the cuisine of the region for generations.
Many of our most memorable moments take place away from the cities. We will visit artisan producers, agricultural businesses, and food makers who continue to preserve the knowledge and traditions that define Emilia-Romagna’s culinary identity. These visits provide a rare opportunity to see how iconic products are made and to meet the people responsible for them.
While the itinerary includes numerous guided activities, we also believe that independent exploration is an important part of travel. A full free day in Bologna, along with selected free meals throughout the trip, allows guests to follow their own interests, visit museums, discover local restaurants, shop, or simply enjoy the atmosphere of the region.
Throughout the journey, we travel aboard a modern private coach operated by one of Northern Italy’s most trusted transportation companies. Their experienced and attentive drivers are an essential part of our team, working closely with us to ensure smooth logistics and a comfortable travel experience.
Routes are carefully planned to minimize time on the road and maximize time enjoying the destinations we visit. Whenever possible, we coordinate drop-off and pick-up points to place guests as close as possible to the heart of the action.
Our coach is clean, safe, air-conditioned, and spacious. Because we travel with small groups, many seats remain unoccupied, providing extra room and comfort throughout the journey.
This is not a rushed sightseeing tour. Distances between destinations are relatively short, allowing us to spend less time on the road and more time enjoying meals, conversations, and meaningful experiences. Our goal is to provide a relaxed and enjoyable pace that encourages genuine connection with the places we visit.
While the core elements of the itinerary are carefully planned, we intentionally leave room for seasonal opportunities that may arise during our travels. September is harvest season throughout much of Emilia-Romagna, and local festivals, markets, food events, and special invitations often provide unexpected highlights that become some of the most memorable moments of the journey.
Our itineraries are built around visits with working producers, artisans, farmers, and family businesses. While we make every effort to deliver the experiences described, agricultural production, harvest schedules, weather conditions, family obligations, and other operational realities may occasionally require adjustments. Should a planned visit become unavailable, we reserve the right to substitute it with an alternative experience of comparable quality and interest. In practice, these changes often create unexpected opportunities and memorable discoveries. We always maintain contingency plans and work closely with our network of partners to ensure a seamless and rewarding experience for our guests.
Please note that this journey includes a balance of curated group activities and independent exploration. Guests are encouraged to take advantage of free time to discover local cafés, restaurants, museums, markets, and attractions according to their personal interests and preferences.
